French students have finished their 3 month internship. So they left Japan yesterday. They were very good students. I hope that they will have a resounding successful in the future. I wish see them again someday. (^^)

Has summer come ? Yesterday's sky was clear like a summer . By the way, Do you know cicada ? There are lots of cicada in my hometown. Cicada's chirp is very noisy in summer. So If I heard Cicada's chirp, I feel summer. I think that it might not be summer as the cicada does not chirp yet.

It was a heavy rain today, So our campus was closed. Because there were no students, our campus was pretty quiet. The level of the river which near our school had increased. The bridge designed to be underwater during a flood had sank.

There are several Starbucks Coffee in my town. I went to a Starbucks Coffee today. I wanted to by a Japan Geography Series Tumbler. But there were no "Kagawa prefecture Tumbler". So I didn't buy a Tumbler. I am sorry to that.

In Japan, there is a custom to eat eels in the summer. However, recently eel has decreased. So we ate a Una-don(It is a bowl of eel and rice) for the first time in 3 years. Declining eels may change Japanese culture. That is a difficult problem.

I couldn’t go to the dentist when I lived in the USA. Because my insurance didn’t cover the dental visit. So I went to the dentist for checking and cleaning my teeth. I think that being able to go to a dentist is a happy thing.

I saw a soft-shelled turtle again. Actually, I often see soft-shelled turtle recently. It is a little bit dangerous because it has a strong chewing power. However, it is a high-grade ingredient. If you want to eat it in a shop, you have to pay for it about $100. Some people eat it in Japan. ( It is not general. I have never eaten it. ) If I had $100, I would like to eat another dish. It look like not so delicious.

I went to a LUKE'S LOBSTER for lunch in KOBE city today. I ate a Lobster roll. It was salty compared to the American lobster roll. But It's OK. When I eat a Lobster roll, I remember my living in the USA.

A new baby was born in my little brother 's family. So we went to Shimane prefecture to see the baby. She was so cute. After that, We visited Izumo shrine for sightseeing. God living in this shrine is very famous. He had developed the land of Japan for people. In addition, He helped a white rabbit long time ago. He is probably very kind.

I ate a cold zenzai at Izumo city. Zenzai is a sweet red bean soup with a grilled rice cake balls. It is one of the popular Japanese sweets. We enjoy zenzai with salty pickled vegetables in order to make it tastier. It was delicious. I like that taste.

My campus is in a rural area. Because of the capital of the prefecture, my town has 400,000 people. The city center has developed, but the suburbs are countryside. There is a school building at the foot of a mountain. There is a river near the school. There are plenty of nature.

We had a good bye party for thai exchange student today. So we went to a thai food restaurant. I ate a "pakapao". Do you know "pakapao"? It is a food which mixed with minced meat and white rice. It was spicy but very delicious. I like thai food. Thank you for participating in our party. (^^)

This is a Guardian lion-dog at Shinto shrine. It's called "Komainu" in Japanese. "Komainu" is a pair of stone guardian dogs . They have the power of the talisman. They are placed certainly at the Shinto shrine.
